Due to lack of funding, the physics-live.org will no longer be available after the end of May 2009. All downloads will be moved to somewhere else. This is not the end of the project. I will continue developing the physics-live CD. Currently I am working on the next version of the CD.

All simulation programs and most softwares on the live CD are under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE. However, some softwares are distributed under different licenses: Gabedit is Copyright (c) 2002-2007 Abdul-Rahman Allouche and Scilab is under Scilab license.

By downloading the Physics-Live CD means that you have agreed to the above licenses.

Todo List:

* Add documentations for each software included on the CD.
* Add some pages of Wikipedia with topic in physics.
* Add more softwares: Ghemical, pyMol, VPython,Scipy,NumPy,Numeric, Numarray, Boost.
* Remove unnecessary softwares.
* Make a new LiveCD based on new version of slax 6 or wolvix or scientific linux live cd since these CDs have better compression ratio. Therefore, the livecd can contains more softwares.
* Add gtk for visualization.
* Modify c and c++ codes.

About Physics-Live CD

I create this live CD mainly for physical simulations. The CD contains many essential mathematics, physics, and chemistry related softwares for computations and developing simulations. I have developed many simulations by using c, gtk and glade included in the live CD.

I hope this live CD will be useful for learning and teaching and research in physics.

If I have extra money in the bank, I think I will buy one of these high speed cameras. The camera can capture up to 30-60 images in a second! and record up to 1000 fps. Amazing! I can do observations of real life physics, for examples, measuring the value of gravitational acceleration of a falling object and a collision between two objects, by capturing many images or recording a video. Many physics phenomena can be recorded and analyzed easily. These cameras will certainly change the way we do physics!
